Privateer, winners of the prestigious Steel and Inland Motor Boat of the year award, are a Dutch company with a focus on building high quality trawlers capable of long range cruising. They will be showing off their latest 50 ft model at the Southampton Boat Show this September.

Pete Green from Halcyon Yachts Ltd, one of the UK’s leading delivery companies, is proud to have accepted the recent contract to deliver her to her new home in the South of France “Following the Boat Show we will be departing for France. Our first stop will be Gibraltar and then onward to the Cote d’Azur. The trip will be relatively late in the year but having had lots of experience with these vessels there a few other boats I would rather be taking. This particular vessel is the first Privateer to use the Seakeeper gyro stabilising system which should be of great help when crossing Biscay”.

The vessel is soon to be officially launched from her Dutch home in Sneek. Just a few finishing touches are required before she is fully commissioned and ready to be shown to the world in Southampton.

Pete states “We have previously delivered a Privateer 52 to the Med. It was the first time a boat of this type had ventured that far south. She attracted a lot of attention in Palma and although small compared to a lot of the other yachts we seemed to be the talk of the town. It is quite unusual to have a Steel Trawler in the Med, but with air con throughout, a huge bathing platform and plenty of deck space she really will be quite at home!”.
